A Flat ROCKING Cheermas

I hope you enjoyed your holidays! I sure did!

Coaching involves way more than showing up for practices and games to supervise.  One of the most amazing parts about coaching is being able to build relationships through team activities and celebrations. Although, Christmas has come and gone, I thought today would still be a great day to share how my "ROCKing" cheerleaders celebrated Christmas this year.
We had a fabulous 3 B's of Cheermas Brunch! Check us out...

Our Cheer mom made the cutest invites!

 BLING - BRUNCH - BRING

After filling up on scrumptious food we played games. The first game played was the "Human Cheermas Tree" visit  Purple Trail Party  for rules for the game along with other great party game ideas for any occasion. Our game was modified a bit to enhance the fun!

As an old tradition everyone purchased a $15-$20 gift and we played the left-right Christmas game using a story similar to the one found here Christmas Story Here is a pic of all us with our gifts before we circled up and read the story.

As a NEW tradition everyone purchased a NEW toy to donate to Toys For Tots. If you did not have a chance to donate to Toys For Tots...it is never too late. You may still donate today by clicking here Donate A Toy Today

As a coach I love the joy of creating a family environment for my girls. I started traditions with my team that I gained from teams I have cheered on in the past along with help from my cheer parents. I shared some of our traditions with you... now it's your turn. What are some of your family/team holiday season traditions?

Why Cheerleading?

Cheerleading has been my way of expression, inspiration, release, a sense of being me, and building a legacy. I grabbed my first set of poms at age five when I cheered for the recreation department in Warner Robins, GA as a chief cheerleader. At that point I had no clue cheerleading would be one of my most enjoyable experiences and big part of my life. That magical moment in tenth grade when I competed at my first cheerleading competition was when I knew I would be a part of this world called Cheerleading for a very long time. Personally, I have met some amazing people, learned discipline, learned what it means to be a team player, became more confident in myself, and gained leadership skills ALL from cheerleading.

This is me at age 5 Cheering as a Kansas City, Chief. "Our team is like an alligator we're real real sharp. Your team is like a turtle they're real real slow."

I started this blog for anyone who has ever been a part of an organization that has made a positive impact on their lives. I am currently a cheer coach who is dedicated to showing my cheerleaders the importance of being student athletes. Here I will be sharing my personal experiences as well as informing you about the sport of cheerleading. If you are a coach, athlete, or parent of an athlete follow my blog and share your comments.

How has cheerleading made a positive impact in your life? You do not have to be a cheerleader or coach to answer this question. :)
